Olusegun, Chidi, Ahmed And More Names Sent To Senate For Confirmation

President Muhammadu Buhari has forwarded the names of 23 Members of the National Population Commission, NPC to the senate for confirmation.

President Buhari who is currently in London, made the request via a letter he sent to the National Assembly.

The letter was read out by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki during plenary today.

“In accordance with the provisions of section 154(1) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended, I write to forward to the Senate for confirmation, the following names of 23 nominees representing their respective states in the National Population Commission,” the letter from President Buhari reads.

The 23 names of the NPC nominees are:

Senator Saraki said the President has also asked for Barrister Festus Okoye to be confirmed as Commissioner for the Independent National Electoral Commission and Abba Ali (Katsina-North west) and Mohammed Sagir (Niger-North central) ad Non-legal practitioner members of the Federal Judicial Service Commission.
