Vladimir Putin has been elected President of Russia for a fourth time.

Mr Putin, who would serve a six year term, gained 75 % of the vote, while, Pavel Grudinin, the nearest competition had received 13.2% so far.

Aulexei Navalny, the main opposition leader was barred from the elections.
