The  Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has denied a report going round on social media that claimed it is planning not to sell “forms to anyone with a pending case of embezzlement.”

Oluwole Osage Uzzi, director, voter education and publicity, INEC, said the news was “false.”

He wrote: “The attention of INEC has just been drawn to a trending story on social media that the Commmission will not issue forms to anyone with a pending case of embezzlement before the security agencies or any court.

”This story attributed to INEC is false and did not emanate from the Commission or any of its officials and should therefore be ignored.”

Mr Uzzi noted that the “grounds for disqualification are clearly spelt out in the 1999 Constitution (as amended).
