President Muhammadu Buhari today departed Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano to attend the One Planet Summit in Paris.
Nigeria’s number one citizen will be joined by 50 world leaders including UK’s Prime Minister, Theresa May in discussing the effects of climate change and the goals of the Paris agreement set up two years ago.
The President’s Personal Assistant, Bashir Ahmad posted a video on Twitter showing President Buhari as he boarded the aircraft this morning.
On Wednesday, President Buhari, began a two-day tour in Kano. The 74-year-old made a stop at his farm in Daura, Katsina, yesterday.
“I’m spending a few days at home in Daura before I travel to France for the One Planet Summit,” he announced in a twitter message at 9:12 on Sunday morning.
“Today I paid a visit to my farm. I grow fruits & vegetables, & keep cattle. I hope this will inspire one more person to take up farming. My vision is for a country that grows what it eats.”
