President Buhari To Campaign For APC Candidate In Anambra

President Muhammadu Buhari will make a visit to Anambra state to campaign in the November 18 governorship election on behalf of his party’s candidate, Dr Tony Nwoye. 

Mohammed Abubakar, the Governor of Bauchi State, made the announcement to the State House correspondents, after presenting Dr Nwoye to President Buhari at the Aso Villa this afternoon.

Governor Abubakar, the Chairman of the APC National Campaign Council for the Anambra Governorship election, said “We have had our primaries, we have settled appeals, and we have done reconciliations, it is therefore time for us to present to the father of this nation, the President of the federal republic of Nigeria, the APC governorship candidate of the APC in Anambra State Dr Tony Nwoye.”

He went on to say that “the President received us very well and in fact he has promised us that he will grace the grand finale of our campaign in Anambra State.”

Since his election in 2015, President Buhari has campaigned for APC in Ondo, and Edo with both candidate going on to win the elections.

If successful, the APC candidate in Anambra will replace Chief Willie Obiano.

In a tweet, the president @MBuhari, confirmed today’s meeting with Dr Nwoye, saying “our party’s Governorship candidate in Anambra State, Hon Tony Nwoye paid me a visit today at State House.”

But, the full details of the President’s visit to the campaign has not yet been provided by the Presidency.
