Early results announced by the National Elections Commission (NEC) on Thursday shows Senator George Weah is on course to becoming the next President of Liberia.

The former AC Milan striker has receieved 39.6 percent of the votes compared to his closest rival, Joseph Nyuma Boakai, who has secured 31.1 percent.
