Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin have met for the first time since he was elected in January.

Pictures of the two powerful world leaders taken during the G20 summit in Hamburg, Germany have emerged online.

Both men are expected to hold a meeting later on in the day to discuss hot topics such as the Syrian conflict, North Korea and Russia’s annexation of Crimea.
