President Muhammadu Buhari Holds Emergency Meeting Deep Into The Night

Exclusive: By Danjuma Aliyu

Nigeria’s President is currently holding a meeting at the Aso Villa, DENISAURUS News has learned.

Reporters of this online news media were duly informed of the meeting which began with President Muhammadu Buhari around 9 pm on Tuesday evening.

It is not certain what issues are being discussed, but Government official say the recent scandal involving a recent raid by the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission at the Osborne Towers in Ikoyi, Lagos, might have been up for discussion.

Last week, Ibrahim Mustafa Magu claimed to have recovered the sum of $43 million from the house, however it turned out that the money belonged to the National Intelligence Agency, NIA.

According to an EFCC staff, Mr Magu was personally approached by the Director-General of the security agency over the matter.

Security personnels say Mr Magu who DENISAURUS News has exposed over his desperation to become the 4th chairman of the anti-graft commission, has jepoardised a major operation.

The nomination of the Borno born Commissioner of Police was rejected for the second time on March 15, 2017 due to a report by the Department of State Service, DSS.

The DSS report stated that Mr Magu was a liability to the anti-corruption fight.

Mr Magu’s failure to get confirmed has resulted in a battle between his ally who are against those who stood on the DSS report to reject him.

The EFCC acting chair worsened his case before the Senate when he was unable to defend the allegations put to him from the report.

There have been allegations of a clash between the legislative and the executive following the rejection of Mr Magu.

President Buhari in an attempt to resolve the rift directed his Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo to lead a resolution committee.

The Senate President in a recent television interview said such committee did not exit.

Besides, a Government source believes Professor Osinbajo caused more damage when he openly spoke of his support for Mr Magu, even after the committee meant to resolve the matter was set up.

Meanwhile, President Buhari has sent well wishes to a former chairman of the EFCC, whose husband passed away.
