The driver of a Peugeot Partner deliberately ploughed into a large group of people outside a north London Pub, only four days after a similar attack at the Westminster.
Witnesses told the BBC that they saw bodies being thrown “in the air” when the car mounted the pavement outside the Old Queen’s Head in Islington.
The collision left two men and one woman injured. The driver and his teenage passenger got off the car and ran away by foot.
Two knives were found on the scene. The police have now arrested four males, aged between 17 and 19; however “this is not being treated as terrorist related.”
A spokesman for the Met said: “Police were called at approximately 22:55hrs on Saturday, 25 March to reports of a car in collision with a number of people in Essex Road, N1.
“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended the scene; initial reports state four people are suffering injuries – their condition awaits.”
