A 12-year-old from Lagos has developed an Android mobile tracking app called My Location, which aims to help lost children find their way back home.
Tomisin Jasmin Ogunnubi, a pupil from Vivian Fowler Memorial College for Girls in Oregun, Lagos, Nigeria, launched an app that users know where they are and the neighbouring streets around them and gives appropriate directions, last week.
My location was developed to solve a problem which Miss Ogunnubi had noticed in her community.
One of the other useful attributes of the app is that it is integrated with an alert button which when pressed in a distressed situation, calls the Lagos State emergency service number (767), and thereby gets the chance of being rescued from such threatening emergencies or conditions.
