The Liberal Democrats have beaten an Ex-Tory MP to gain a new seat in the House of Parliament.
Sarah Olney overturned Zac Goldsmiths’ 23,015 majority in the Richmond Park by-election.
Mr Goldsmith, a billionaire, who ran as the Conservative candidate in the Mayoral elections decided to stand as an independent after triggering a by-election over the Government’s plans to expand Heathrow airport.
The Conservative Party, UK Independence Party and Green Party did not field candidates in this election.
The Labour candidate, Christain Wolmar, lost his deposit of £500 after coming third.
