Nigeria’s Commander-in-Chief Muhammadu Buhari is to leave the international airport in Abuja for Marrakech, Morocco, for the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (known as COP-22) shortly.

A member of the Presidential team informed this blog a few minutes ago, that the President was seen boarding his helipad at about 14.01 local time.
According to the government official, PMB as he is fondly known, would be travelling via the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport at 3 PM West African Time (UTC+01:00) to join other world leaders from about 197 countries to discuss policy actions aimed at tackling climate change through environmental sustainable efforts.

The conference which starts from November 14-16, will see President Buhari attend various programmes devoted to Africa.
Mr Femi Adesina, the President’s spokesman said that President Buhari is expected to highlight issues caused by oil extraction in Ogoniland, in the Sout-south of Nigeria.
He said while in Marrakech, President Buhari would attend the Africa Day Commemoration at COP 22 with the theme, “Moving from Commitments to Action with Intended Nationally Determined Contributions and African Renewable Energy Initiative.”
PMB will participate in the official opening plenary tomorrow, November 15, where he will deliver a statement during the high level segment of the conference.

President Buhari will visit Ondo to support his party candidate Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN after returning from his trip.
The elections in Ondo State are expected to take place on the 26th of this month.
