Dayo Israel is well known for being the youth leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

The 37-year-old, who was elected to the position in 2022, has also grown in the public eye- from being an active campaigner for social rights, a child senator and being named as 1 of 100 most influential people of African descent (under 40).

Mr Israel, a law graduate from the London Metropolitan University, who has been received by the likes of the late Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, constantly seeks to bring to light issues affecting the youths of his country.

It is seen in his GLEEHD Foundation, where youths are the focus of the programmes.

Of recent times, he has used his popularity to engage young members of the APC by ensuring a reduced price for those wishing to contest in elections across the states.

He has also been seen on the stages campaigning for vote for his party. As a leading youth, he has been able to galvanise on the party’s candidate’s behalf.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was elected with 8.8 million votes on the 25th of February in a country with a large percentage of youths.

The appeal court upheld the election of the President today, saying that the opposition all lacked merit to challenge him.

It had earlier dismissed a case brought against APC’s Tinubu by the Allied Peoples Movement.

The judges who ruled that it was incompetent said: “It is clear that the claim of qualification it non qualification of the the 3rd Respondent (Tinubu) centered on alleged invalid nomination of the 4th Respondent (Shettima).“

The prayers of the Labour party presidential candidate was also incompetent.

Now, a senior aide to the governor of Ogun State governor on Technology Innovation and Strategy, has added to the voice of people seeking that President Tinubu, popularly referred to as BAT, should appoint Mr Israel as his Minister for Youth Development.

Dennis Ogunnaike, Ogun State Secretary for the Jagaban Movement, and an active member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who delivered his polling unit for both the governor and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2023 elections, says that Mr Israel is “best fit,” as Minister of Youth Developments

While explaining that he had laid down some round work using his technological knowledge by way of several opinion polls way before the elections in his ward and the results were positive, he said “as National Youth Leader of the Party, Dayo has developed harmonious working relationships with several cross-generational demographics across the six-geopolitical zones of the country, just as he worked assiduously leveraging on this networks to deliver massive victory for the party in the 2023 general elections.”

Speaking from his Constituency Office at Erinlu in Ifesowapo Zone, Odogbolu State Constituency of Ogun State, the IT buff and strategist went on to note how Mr Israel, who is the current National Youth Leader of the ruling party, also gingered the youth constituency voters in various ways, “notable of which is his contribution and support towards securing the Party’s ticket for countless number of young aspirants, many of whom have now been elected into various legislative offices across the country.”

Mr Dayo Israel was all over the country canvassing for votes during the elections.

There were times “criss-crossing the Sahel in Maiduguri, Yobe and Zamfara, to The Creeks in Bayelsa, Rivers, from Ogun to Ondo, Ekiti, Oyo, to Owerri, Ebonyi and others canvassing change and spreading hope to the hopeless,” Prince Ogunnaike went further to state.

“Dayo is a firm believer in the Nigerian Dream, a dream that lies in the hands of the next generation to bring to fruition leveraging on the gains of today. Dayo possesses the required capacity and dexterity to drive the much-clamoured inclusion of Youths in Governance, just as he understands the specific challenges of the average Nigerian Youth. He is a Beacon of Hope for the Ordinary Nigerian Youth, in whom the sons and daughters of nobody’s have found refuge.”

Prince Ogunnaike added that “despite his international exposure and access, Dayo out of his freewill chose to remain in Nigeria,” and did not “japa,” when he could have, when looking at his education and level of influence.

He said, “it is important to emphasize that Dayo is “best fit” to interpret the Renewed Hope Agenda mantra of the party if appointed as Minister of Youths being a young progressive who graduated from the School of Progressive Politics.”

“To say that he is passionate about the Youths of Nigeria is to say the very least. His strengths, eloquence and “can do spirit” are needed the most at a time as this where many young Nigerians have completely lost faith, and “Japa Syndrome” is gradually becoming a National Pandemic.”

“Dayo Isreal represents a bridge between the young and older generations of our nation, being a grassroot politician who also possess the requisite level of Educational Qualification, Corporate Governance and Diplomacy Skills required to Lead the Ministry of Youths in Nigeria.”
