A former governor of Ekiti, Ayodele Fayose has done a massive U-turn claiming that the Peoples Democratic Party zonal election recently held was a scam. This was after he conceded defeat following the failure of his candidates to gain any prime position.

At the time of the elections, Mr Fayose, who was a two term governor acknowledged that the current Governor of Oyo, Seyi Makinde was the leader of the party in the south west zone.

This admittance by Mr Fayose, was seen by many in the party as a sign of reconcilation since the former Governor had failed to see that Governor Makinde, the only PDP governor in the south west zone, was now the most ranking member of their party.

Too the surprise of many, Mr Fayose went on a national TV station to state that the election had been a “scam.”

Mr Fayose, whose candidate Eddy Olafeso lost to Governor Makinde’s candidate, Taofeek Arapaja by 13 votes, said that there were “manipulation” in the election.

He said: “For me, as to that election, it was a scam but I must agree as a leader of the PDP. I have been working for this party. I am one of the voices that cannot be forgotten in the PDP.”

He stated that he “will not sit down here and say because of 13 votes, because of manipulation, the party must not move forward.”
