The former Governor of Imo State Rochas Okorocha has been arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC for allegation of money laundering.
Mr Okorocha, who now represent Imo West Senatorial district, DENISUARUS News understand, was picked up from his Abuja office in the afternoon.
The lawmaker who remains in custody, had previously been arrest by the Police in February following his decision to unseal a property that had been sealed by the EFCC.
The former Governor, who served two terms before his election into the Senate, denies any wrong doing, but there are allegations that he misappropriated state money and resources – including the sealed house that was sealed.
Sources also say that Mr Okorocha’s turn of fate, may be down to his long running feud with his successor, Hope Uzodima.
Mr Okorocha had wanted his son in-law to take over from him, however the All Progressives Congress, under the leadership of sacked Adams Oshiomhole, refused to give him the ticket.
