A popular senator representing Kogi-West who is said to have received only 70 votes in the primaries held by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, will not give up his dream to become Governor of the state.Â
Dino Melaye, who believes the results are not accurate say “it is rediculous (SIC) to declare a final result of Pdp Governorship primary election in Kogi State when my votes sorted out yesterday in 8 out of 10 ballot boxes are missing. Only to declare votes in 2 out of 10 ballot boxes as my votes. Totally unacceptable.”
The lawmaker hopes to still participate in the election scheduled to take place on November 16. He recently had his election as a senator nullified by the Election Tribunal in Kogi.
DENISAURUS News understands that the younger brother of Idris Wada, the immediate past Governor of the state received the highest score.
Musa Wada according to media reports received 748 votes, while his nearest rival Abubakar Ibrahim Idris got a total of 710 votes.
Mr Wada will be contesting against Yayaha Bello, the current Governor who the ruling party has endorsed for a second term.
