The newly elected speaker of the House of Representatives is to visit Lagos, where he would meet up the Oba among all other people.
Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila who was elected by his peers in the ninth National Assembly, would arrive at Oba Rilwan Akinolu’s palace by 2pm this afternoon.
DENISAURUS News is also aware that the lawmaker, will also make a stop by his constituency in Surulere to meet with local party members.
Prince Kayode Akiolu, who represents Lagos Island constituency II and the Governor of Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-Olu will be at the palace to welcome the speaker.
Prince Akiolu, who was elected in 2019 told DENISAURUS News he was delighted about the speaker’s visit.
“I am extremely happy to welcome my honourable colleague, who is the speaker of the house of representatives.
“I am delighted to know that my constituency is one of the first place the Honourable Speaker would be visiting after his successful election.
“This visit gives the Rt. Honourable Speaker the opportunity to see and speak to people in the area.
“It proves his commitment and determination to work with everyone in building the nation.”
“We have a catalogue of requests from the Federal Government, from special status for the state to the return of all property belonging to Lagos government which were taken away by military fiat. We want the property to be returned to us,” he said.
