Bolaji Abdullahi Re-Elected As APC National Publicity Secretary

Bolaji Abdullahi has been re-elected as the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The spokesperson for the ruling party, who is from Kwara State, received 2002 votes in order to beat his closest rival, Abubakar Sidiq Usman, a Kogi blogger known as AbuSidiq.

Abusidiq scored 243 votes, while Lanre Issa-Onilu, the third placed candidate in the election won 148 votes.

In a twitter post, Mr Abdullahi thanked “everyone who has supported me to retain my position as the National Publicity Secretary of our great party, @OfficialAPCNg.

“I look forward to engaging with you all in the days ahead. Welldone @MrAbuSidiq. Looking forward to working with you.”

The results of the APC convention held on Saturday were also declared in favour of Adams Oshimole, who was elected unopposed as the new national chairman of the party.

President Muhammadu Buhari, a member of the APC believes the new party structure is one to be proud of.

He said the party leaders are “one that would lead the APC from victory to victory, from progress to progress, and one that Nigerians can be proud of.”

The 75-year-old President also went on to “congratulate members of the immediate past executive, led by Chief John Odigie Oyegun, for their selfless service to our party, and urge them to always lend the wisdom of their experience to the new executive members.”

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki also commended the exercise.

“I commend Chief John Oyegun for his leadership as the immediate past Chairman of @OfficialAPCNg, and congratulate our new Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.”
