President Muhammadu Buhari has travelled to Bauchi to commiserate with the people of the state over the windstorm that led to the loss of lives and properties.
DENISAURUS News learnt that up to 1500 houses were destroyed in a windstorm that engulfed certain part of Bauchi state last week.
The Governor of the state, Mohammed Abubakar noted that 349 schools from 13 out of the 20 Local Government areas of the state, were also affected.
Governor Abubakar said: “The schools need immediate renovation because the roofs, furniture and computers were all damaged and students are about to start examination.”
This paper also discovered that a fire destroyed over 700 shops located at the Azare Central market, in the Katagum Local Government Area of the state.
President Buhari, 75, who visited Azare Central Market today, had previously directed Adamu Adamu, the Minister of Education, to lead a Federal Government delegation immediately to Bauchi State in the aftermath of the storm and fire.
But, many Nigerians had complained that the President, who during the campaign in 2015 promised to lead to the front, was abdicating his duties by delegating others to make the visit inside of showing up for himself.
