Nigerian popular dread locks reggae singer Ukeleke Onwubuya, better known by his moniker Ras Kimono has died at the age of 60.
The Rum-Bar Stylée crooner complained of feeling unwell on Saturday and was rushed to an unnamed hospital in Ikeja
The star, who was born in Onicha Olona in the Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, was moved from the hospital in Ikeja and taken to another hospital on Lagos Island where he later died on Sunday morning.
Pretty Okafor, President of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria, “Ras Kimono was a very humble and excellent person. He was more like a father to me than a friend or colleague.
“He was one musician that never had any issue with anybody in the music industry. We are really going to miss him.”

Ben Bruce, the founder of Silverbird Group and representative for Bayelsa East Senatorial District, also paid tribute to the deceased saying, “I feel so sad hearing about the death of reggae legend, Ras Kimono.
“He redefined the face of music and there will be none like him. He will be dearly missed.”
