Senator Dino Melaye (APC, Kogi) has accused Sen. Abdullahi Adamu (APC, Nasarawa) of plotting to remove the current Senate President, Bukola Saraki, from office.

According to Sen. Melaye, the accused’s main motive is the removal of his son’s name from the bad books of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

On the 16th of January, the EFCC detained Sen. Adamu’s son, Nuraini Adamu, on an allegation of fraud of up to N92 million.
In a tweet on Thursday, the Kogi West lawmaker vehemently stated his and 98 other senators’ support for the Senate President.

He said: “The Nasarawa Senator plotting Saraki’s removal is a joker. No shaking! He used Saraki’s name to get off EFCC before, now his son again has been arraigned by EFCC he want to play the same card. Agbaya!”

“We dey wait. 98 Senators are unwavering on Saraki. SDM.”
