A London based journalist has been arrested and detained in Nigeria. 

Journalist and Publisher, Daniel Elombah and his brother Tim, were picked up by Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS in his family home in Edomite-Uruagu Nnewi, Anambra around 4:30 this morning,  over a recent article which was critical of the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris.

Mrs Elombah said her husband, Daniel was picked up by the security operatives “in the wee hours of today. They told us they were acting based on orders from above.”

So far, no charges have been brought against both men.

A media partner of DENISAURUS News, The Pebbles News was one of the first to break the news of Mr Elombah’s arrest.

 

The arrest was made months after a campaign to #EndSARS.
