The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC today tried to pull a fast one by ordering the arrests of the former heads of the Department of State Security Service, SSS and the National Intelligence Agency, NIA, at 11 am today.
Sources have told this newspaper that the EFCC never invited the former DSS Director General, Ita Ekpeyong or Ayo Oke, the former Director General of the NIA, before sending operatives to their houses for them to be arrested.
A senator who spoke to DENISAURUS News in confidence, said the President has to call Mr Magu to order. The lawmaker made note that out of the million of people in Nigeria, why was the Presidency bent on keeping a man who lacks integrity in a sensitive position.
Ibrahim Mustafa Magu whose nomination substantive chairman was rejected due to an indicting report by the DSS.
The 53-year- old has been accused by his own staff of running a media trial to gain public sympathy.
The “corrupt” officer who remains bitter about his nomination rejection as proven to be a “liability on the corruption fight,” as the DSS report indicates.
The level 14 officer, who has been accused of embezzlement by EFCC workers, is said to be engaging in media trials in order to continue to deceive the world that he is working.
