Gilbert Deya: Kenyan Pastor Who Delivered Miracle Babies For Barren Women Deported Back Home

A popular Kenyan pastor based in London has been extradited back home to face child-trafficking charges.

Gilbert Deya, known as the Archbishop of Peckham, who often boasts of being able to offer barren women “miraculous babies,” arrived in the east-African country this morning and appeared in court charged with five counts of child stealing.

He is accused of stealing babies from the Pumwani Maternity Hospital in Nairobi. However, the man who claims to have powers to heal with an anointing oil that cost £1.99 argued that the births were miraculous.

Investigations by the BBC in 2004 revealed that the babies were always “delivered” in backstreet clinics in Nairobi, Kenya’s capital.

65-year-old Mr Deya could not explain how the babies had a different DNA to their parents. Then he said: “The miracle babies which are happening in our ministry are beyond human imagination.

“It is not something I can say I can explain because they are of God and things of God cannot be explained by a human being.”
