Government Sources say that President Muhammadu Buhari is holding a meeting at the Villa right now.
This is the second time this week that the President is having such meetings with some of his ministers.
One official who is at the meeting said: “It was a follow up to last night’s private discussions.”
Reporters from DENISAURUS News revealed that the Presidency had discussed the recent recovery of $43 Million by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, during the meeting on Tuesday – which was published in this news site in the early morning of Wednesday.
Following to the meeting, the President has ordered an investigation into the discovery of the money, which was claimed by the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, NIA.
The DG NIA, Ayo Oke, was suspended on Wednesday, pending the results of an investigation led by the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo; NSA Chief Babagana Monguno and the Attorney-General of Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF has also been suspended.
Last year, President Buhari directed the AGF to probe both the SGF and Ibrahim Mustafa Magu, the rejected chair of the EFCC.
The Government source said the AGF’s report indicted both men; however, some powerful forces tried to suppress and change Mr Malami’s stance.
EFCC workers have in the past, called for Mr Malami, SAN, to release to the public its investigative report against Mr Magu.
