Donald Trump continues to claims that he won the popular vote on 8 November.
On his verified twitter handle, he asserted his victory in the election, adding that he would have won the popular vote “if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally.”
The president-elect, who offered no evidence for his claims, made the gibes following the call for a recount in Wisconsin made by the Green party candidate’s, Jill Stein and supported by Mr Trump’s Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton.
Mrs Stein is also pushing for recounts in Pennsylvania and Michigan and has raised more than $6m online to fund such efforts.
