A former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro has reportedly visited the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, over an alleged N4.75 billion arms fund traced to him.
The former minister (pictured) who also represented Lagos state as a Senator from 2003–2007, arrived from the United State at 7:45 am today, 17 October, 2016, after leaving in 2015 to study languages.
Mr Obanikoro was accused by a whistle blower, Captain Sagir Koli of being involved in ‘rigging’ the 2014 Ekiti election.
The voice of the former minister along with the siting governor of Ekiti, Ayo Fayose was heard in a leaked audio tape dubbed #EkitiGate.
In the tape, Captain. Koli’s commanding officer, Aliyu Momoh, a General; Mr Obanikoro, a former Minister of Police Affairs, Jelili Adesiyan, Mr Fayose, chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Andy Uba and Iyiola Omisore, were discussing how to rig the 2014 election in Ekiti State.
