President Muhammadu Buhari Going to Edo to support Godwin Obaseki

President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR would arrive in Benin City, Edo State tomorrow to support his Governorship candidate Mr Godwin Obaseki.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Nigerian armed forces was elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC in 2015. He made history by being the first member of the opposition to beat an incumbent leader in a Presidential election in Nigeria.

It is understood that President Buhari alongside his Vice, Professor Yemi Osinbajo SAN will hold a rally at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium to campaign for the APC Governorship candidate, Mr Obaseki on Tuesday, 6th September.

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Edo State, Mr Anselm Ojezua, who revealed the President’s intended plans to visit the south west state currently led by Governor Adams Oshiomhole, gave assurances that “all logistics to ensure free movement of the visitors and party supporters across the state have been perfected.”

He also said that the National Campaign Council for the election headed by Governor Akinwumi Ambode of Lagos state was already in Benin to prepare grounds for the rally.

They hope they are able to persuade some undecided voters to align with the APC candidate before Saturday’s elections.Four days ago, President Buhari was in Osun state to commission the newly built 3,000 students capacity Osogbo Government High School, Osogbo.

In a Channels TV debate featuring the contenders, Mr Obaseki received lots of support from the invited guest over his policies.

Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, the candidate for the People’s Democratic Party was constantly booed.
