Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the lawmaker who represents Lagos Central has made a request for “adequate security,” following a brawl involving a fellow lawmaker from Kogi West.
Dino Melaye, a close ally of the Senate President Dr Bukola Saraki clashed with Mrs Tinubu at a closed door executive session at the senate last week Tuesday.
Mr Melaye who is said to have threatened to ‘beat up,’ his female colleague was lambasted by many Nigerians including the President of the APC Youth League.
As at the time of filing this report, Members of Women Concern Group have taken to the street of Lagos in protests to what they see as harassment by Mr Melaye on women.
The self acclaimed anti-corruption czar who denies the allegation is unwilling to apologise and made matters worse by travelling to Bourdillon Road, the area in which the Tinubu’s home is situated.
In a letter dated 18 July, the Women’s Affairs Committee Chairman notes that there were “threat to my life,” which she could not ignore because another honorable who had a row with Mr Melaye in the Hose of Representative suffered an “untimely death.”
“Therefore, I am compelled to urge you to use your good offices to provide me with adequate security.”
