A 32 year old man who destroyed five cars belonging to diplomats in the United Kingdom has been arrested.
Video footage found online showed a man identified as Jeffery Apkovweta Ewohime, a Nigerian based in the United Kingdom, had destroyed the cars because when he went to the Embassy at Northumberland Avenue, he was not allowed to pick up his passport.
“He had approached the embassy to collect his passport which expired since November 2017 at about 2 p.m. and was told collection of passports would close at 1 p.m,” Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the Chairman, Nigerians In the Diaspora Commission, NIDCOM, said in a statement issued by her media aide, Abdur-Rahman Balogun.
According to the NIDCOM chair, Mr Ewohime, “insisted on collecting his passport, and was told to bring his collection slip which he could not produce.”
Mrs Dabiri-Erewa, said the man went on to “destroy about seven cars,” when he did not get what he wanted.
She explained that five of those cars belonged to the Nigerian High Commission, and two to visitors who parked near by.
