Muslim faithful from across the world will commence on the yearly Ramadan fast from Monday.
Ramadan, a time when Muslim do not eat or drink from dawn till dusk, usually last up to a month. The Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar III, after the citing of the new moon of Ramadan 1440A.H. pleaded that observers should use the holy month to pray for the peace and prosperity of the nation.
“Upon due verification and authentication by the national moon sighting committee and states committees’ confirmation, as well as routine scrutiny, the sighting of the new moon of Ramadan signifies the end of Sha’aban 1440 AH,” he said
