The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Lagos have selected Jimi Agbaje as their Governorship candidate for the 2019 elections.

DENISAURUS News understands that the 61-year-old pharmacist, who is tasked with the battle to take Lagos from the All Progressives Congress, APC, received 1,100 votes while his rival Adedeji Doherty polled 742 votes in a primaries chaired by Victor Kassim Oyofo.

Mr Agbaje is yet to respond to a request for an interview with DENISAURUS News.

The 61-year-old lost out the 2015 election to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode in 2015.

But, the ruling party has denied Mr Ambode a second term ticket; instead Babjide Sanwo-Olu who was selected this week, will now challenge Mr Agbaje for the Governorship seat.
