The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton has given birth to her third child, Kensington Palace has confirmed.
The 36-year-old and her husband, Prince William already have two older children — Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
She was admitted “in the early stages of labour,” at 6am this morning. At 11:01 am, she delivered a baby born boy, the fifth-in-line to the British throne.
The baby, whose name is to announced later, weighs 8lbs 7oz.
The Palace made the announcement of the birth of Prince William’s new son in a tweet this morning.
“Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was admitted to St. Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, London earlier this morning in the early stages of labour.
“The Duchess travelled by car from Kensington Palace to the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital with The Duke of Cambridge.
The Prime Minister, Theresa May has wished the couple well.
She said: My warmest congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the birth of their baby boy.
“I wish them great happiness for the future.”
