By Christian Smith

Social media user heaped praises on the staff who pulled the plug on Donald Trump’s twitter account for 11 minutes last night.

The “rogue” twitter employee deleted the account of the US President on his last day at work.

Visitors to @realdonaldtrump’s page were greeted with the message: “Sorry, that page doesn’t exist!”

A statement released by the social media network later said that a”Twitter customer support employee did this on the employee’s last day. We are conducting a full internal review.”

Twitter user @DavidJollyFL said: “Just gonna say it, the employee at Twitter who shut off Trump’s account for 11 mins could become a candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize.”

But, President Trump, a prolific user of the social media network, thinks it is a sign he is having impact.

He tweeted, saying: “My Twitter account was taken down for 11 minutes by a rogue employee.

“I guess the word must finally be getting out-and having an impact.”
