French Presidential Candidates Suspend Campaign To Attend Ceremony For Murdered Policeman

The two French presidential candidate attended a ceremony in honour of Xavier Jugelé, the policeman killed by a terrorist in an attack on the Champs-Élysées.

Far-right candidate Marine Le Pen and centrist Emmanuel Macron, suspended their campaign for the day in order for them to attend the ceremony which took place in the inner courtyard of the Paris police headquarters this morning.

Last week, eyewitness states that Karim Cheurfi, came out of a car and shot 37-year-old Jugelé, a member of the 32nd Public Order and Traffic Department of the Paris Police Prefecture with a “kalashniko.”

At the event, President François Hollande called for unity in the fight against terrorism.
