Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce’s fan woke up to surprising good news this morning.
The 30-year-old Jamaican sprinter used her Facebook page to share with them the good news that she was an expecting mother.
In her posted, she said: “Life is filled with many blessings with God. So here I am thinking about being the greatest mother I can be with my biggest blessing and the promise God made me.”
Mrs Fraser-Pryce, a seven-time World Championships gold medal, posted a photo of herself on the popular social media site and added this caption: “All my focus heading into training for my 2017 season was on getting healthy and putting myself in the best possible fitness to successfully defend my title in London 2017.”
Well wishers welcomed the good news. One of them being UNICEF Jamaica @UNICEFJamaica. They wrote on twitter: “Congratulations to our Goodwill Ambassador @realshellyannfp on news of your pregnancy. We wish you a healthy, happy journey to motherhood!”
She is expected to return to competing in 2018.
