The number of All Progressives Congress Senators have increased, after the only Labour lawmaker decamped to join them today.

The Senate member for Delta Central, Senator Ovie Omo Agege, says he decided to make the switch because of the crisis in the Labour Party.

The 53-year-old legislator is the third member of the Senate to defect to join the ruling party this year.

Senator Nelson Asuquo Effiong, Akwa Ibom South left the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in January. Last month, Senator Andy Uba was also officially accepted into the APC.

The APC now have 66 senators while the PDP has 42.
