Lagos To Hold Local Elections In June

Concerned residents and political parties in Lagos have been reassured that the much anticipated council polls will hold before the end of the year.

The Chairman of Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, LASIEC, Justice Ayotunde Philips said the elections are likely to be conducted in June.

The last local government elections in the state were held on October 22, 2011.

The Governor of Lagos, Akinwunmi Ambode who appointed caretaker committees last year, has tried to reassure residents that elections will hold in the 20 local government and 37 local council development areas soon.

John Omotola Soares, one of those vying for the position of Chairman of Ikoyi / Obalende LCDA, received a massive endorsement from the Nigerian Association of Students, NANS, this week.
