Two suicide bombers detonated their devices at a university in northeastern Nigeria on Monday morning.
The bombers attacked a staff mosque at the University of Maiduguri campus at 5:25 am Nigerian time, killing the head of the veterinary teaching hospital, Professor Aliyu Mani.
One of the bomber is said to be a seven year-old boy. The leader of Boko Haram Islamist terrorist group, Abubakar Shekau has claimed responsibility for the attack.

The National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA confirmed that four people had been killed, including the three suicide bombers, and that 17 people were injured in the blasts.
The third suicide bomber, a 12 year-old girl with an improvised explosive device, IED strapped to her body in Bara Karaya villag was sighted and subsequently gunned down.
President Muhammadu Buhari condemned the attack, saying “My heartfelt condolences go to the University Community, the families of the victims, and the Govt and people of Borno State
In a tweet, he said: “Boko Haram is a godless group; with no true understanding of Islam. Their actions are cowardly, and punishable before God and by our laws.”

The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, also strongly condemned the attacking calling it a“this cowardly act by Boko Haram.”
A statement issued and signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi condoned with families of the victims and praised the Nigerian troops.
“We once again salute our gallant men in uniform for their heroic efforts and their invaluable sacrifice to our nation,” the statement reads.
“We commend President Muhammadu Buhari for keeping the promise that our Party made to Nigerians that we would end the insurgency and restore peace to the Northeast of Nigeria.”
President Buhari whose election campaign includes plans on how to rid the country of the radical militant which has killed thousands and left millions of people displaced.
Last year, the troops of Operation Lafiya Dole succeeded in recapturing the last strong hold of Boko Haram.
The jihadist were chased out of Camp Zairo, Sambisa Forest and many have been arrested by the Nigerian Armed Forces.
Yesterday, President Buhari spoke to soldiers at Sambisa Forest via video call to mark Armed Forces Rememberance Day.
