Members of the Jigawa state house of assembly have impeached the speaker of their assembly, Idris Garba.

Mr. Hussaini Ali, Clerk of the Jigawa state house of assembly received an impeachment notice signed by 25 of the 30-member house.

A replacement speaker, Isa Idris of Gwaram constituency was elected immediately after the sack of Honourable Garba, today.

News of Honourable Garba’s sack comes after the removal of the speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Martins Azubuike.

Honourable Azubuike’s replacement resigned on Thursday 29 December, after spending just 24 hours on the job. He was replaced with Honourable Chikwendu Kalu.
