Leaders of the National Assembly today meet with President Muhammadu Buhari to discuss the recent shedding of blood in Plateau.
The President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara visited the Villa to speak to the President over the #PlateauKillings.
The meeting took place before the start of the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting.
A tweet from the verified handle of the Senate President confirming the meeting said the gathering “was requested by the presiding officers of @NASSNigeria.”
More than 86 people in the Gashish District of Barkin Ladi LGA, in Plateau state were killed by armed herdsmen on Saturday.
The killing was “retaliatory” to the loss of “300 cows,” the Chairman, North Central zone of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders’ Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, has said.
Following the visit to the Presidency, Senator Saraki flew to Jos, Plateau state on a condolence visit and to carry out an on the spot assessment.
