Dan Carden Selected As Labour’s Candidate For Liverpool Walton

Dan Carden has been selected to stand as the Labour candidate for  Liverpool Walton in the upcoming general election.

Mr Carden, aide to the General Secretary of Unite, Britain’s biggest trade union, along with Joe Anderson made it to the shortlist.

But the National Executive Committee of the Labour party choose the Liverpool born Mr Carden as replacement for Steve Rotheram, who was elected as Liverpool’s new Metro Mayor.

The NW Unite Youth branch are one of the groups to first offer congratulations to Mr Carden.

A tweeter user, Jack Youd said: “So happy to hear my feriend and comrade Dan Carden has been selected for Liverpool Walton. He’ll make a fantastic Labour MP.”

Another, @RichardBuxton said: “Dan Carden was in my year at school & always stood out as a decent person even then. Hopefully he’ll get to show that as an elected MP soon.”
