Gunmen reportedly abduct ex-minister, Bagudu Hirse In Kaduna

A former minister of foreign  affairs, Bagudu Hirse was reportedly kidnapped by three unidentified gunmen on Inuwa Wada road in Kaduna, this afternoon.

Ambassador Hirse had been to visit the family of the deceased Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Ibrahim Dasuki on Kabiru road, with a friend before paying a quick visit to Alhaji Mamman Daura, the nephew of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Daily Trust reports that Ambassador Hirse was abducted “right in front of the residence of President Muhammadu Buhari’s powerful nephew, Alhaji Mamman Daura, on Inuwa Wada road in Kaduna.

An eye witness reported that an attempt was also made to abduct Alhaji Abba Kyari, the Chief of Staff to the President, but he was rescued by his security operatives.

It is not certain if Alhaji Dauara who is married to the daughter of Alhaji Dasuki, was also an intended target.

The abductors are yet to make contact with the family of Ambassador Hirse or security operatives.

Sources conversant with the event said, they are really worried about this serious breach of security.
