ABUJA – A former head of state believes President Muhammadu Buhari has performed poorly and should retire from politics after his first term.
But in a video exclusively obtained by DENISAURUS News, Aisha Buhari believes her husband’s poor performance in office is down to two powerful cabals.
The wife of the Nigerian President who was speaking at the National Women Leadership Summit in Abuja, a function organised to get her husband re-elected in 2019, revealed that all the song of achievement being sang in the past one month could have been achieved long before now.
Instead, the ruling party which is dragging on internal issues is not inclusive and has missed it goals because of the two associates of the President.
“Our vote was like 15.4 million only for us to be dominated by two people,” she stated while addressing a group representing the 774 Local Government in the country.
She said she was “disappointed in men who rather than fight these two men will go to them licking their shoes.”
Mrs Buhari, 47, urged the people in the room to “continue to talk against the few that dominated the government.”
Although she did not mention the names of the men, DENISAURUS News has cause to believe the First Lady was referring to Mamman Daura, an uncle to President Buhari.
The President’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, a close companion of Mallam Duara at the Presidential Villa may be the second man Mrs Buhari believes will “never allow things to move fast.”
The First Lady who acknowledged the presence of a few women leaders in the summit, went on to touch on issues she believes to be critical in the February elections.
The 47-year-old, a native of Adamawa noted that the All Progressives Congress, APC, the first party in the country to remove an incumbent President through the ballot box, did not need to “buy votes” in the last elections.
Mrs Buhari said: “The last election in 2015 we did not buy votes and 2019 we are not going to buy votes.”
But she noted that when the ruling party should be reeling out on its achievement it was “dragging.”
“We were expecting to have a team work after that win, but it happens that we are dragging on almost four years on,” she said
She adds: “Nigeria is changing for good, but some people are not happy. They want to take us back to where we are coming from, which was not good for our women and our country in general. I wish to charge our women to go out and spread the good news and achievement of this administration.”
The President’s wife who held a one minutes silent for “our gallant soldiers” who recently lost their lives in the war front in Borno State, prayed that the Federal Government which is led by President Buhari, would pay whatever is due the family of the deceased so they can continue to live a normal life.
“I am happy to join in you at this summit which aims at mobilising and sensitising women to support our party the APC and the re-election bid of our President in 2019.
“I wish to commend officials of the 4+4 project for organising this summit and for the visionary idea of bringing our women out from every local government across Nigeria to Abuja to charge a new and positive cause for our country.
“I believe this summit has set the tone for other groups to emulate as 2019 is not about Mr President, it is about our future.”
She said her statement would not have the backing of some people. “I am very sorry, I know Babafemi Ojodu (a Special Adviser to the President), and Dolapo Osinbajo (wife of the Vice-President), are very nervous, they don’t want me to say anything outside of what they have written for me to read.
“As a mother of the nation we have to say things the way they are,” she said.
“We are doing well, but we have to be a little bit more courageous. I call on you therefore, to propagate our party’s manifesto which promises to change the lives of Nigerians and what it has achieved so far. We must speak on what is on the table if re-elected in 2019.”
