Adams Oshiomhole, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, was seen scaling a fence after members of the party from Bayelsa stormed the National HQ.
Sources who informed DENISAURUS News of the happenings say aggrieved members of the party arrived at Abuja today, to discuss the imposition of candidate that took place in the recently concluded primaries.
When the primaries took place, the chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State, Jothan Amos claimed it was peaceful.
He said: “The constitution of our party stipulates either direct, indirect and consensus primary approaches, but the national and Bayelsa state chapter have adopted a direct primary because it will help the party elect popular candidates that can win elections in 2019.”
However source who witnessed it say it was not peaceful and aggrieved members of the party in the South South state stormed the APC National Headquarters this afternoon.
According to the source, the meeting was so rowdy, Mr Oshiomhole had to flee through the fence.
There have been many allegation of imposition of candidate during the conduct of the primaries within the ruling party.
A few days ago, a video was shared online of APC Chairman in Lagos State trying to swap names of candidates with the National Working Committee, NWC members.
